Findhorn Beach

Now that's what you call a 'flat white'

Home > Explore > Moray > Findhorn Beach

Findhorn Beach is a long, uninterrupted stretch of fine white sandy beach close to the village of Findhorn, and easily accessible with plenty of car parking… and one of only two public toilets in the area.

This is one of the most popular beaches on the Moray coast and a good place for a gentle stroll or a serious birdwatching session.

The sand is separated from the land by a shingle strip, but it’s an easy stride to get to the firm, flat sands and you can literally walk for miles, all the way to Burghead in fact.

Along the way you’ll pass an interesting feature, a line of large concrete tank traps put here in World War II to prevent tanks from being offloaded on the beach and driving inland.

A more modern addition is a string of brightly-painted beach huts, providing a dry and wind-free retreat for anyone who can afford one – they’re ÂŁ25,000 each!

While in the vicinity of the beach, it’s also worth exploring the Findhorn Bay Local Nature Reserve and Findhorn Heritage Centre.
