Golfers have a wide range of courses to choose from when based in Forres. With more than a dozen in Moray and two within the local area, and the likes of Royal Dornoch and Castle Stuart being within easy reach, Forres really does make an excellent base for the golfer.
Forres has its own great golf course within the town boundary at Muiryshade. Designed by James Braid and Willie Park the course has been host to the Northern Open 2000 and also the Scottish Professional Championship.
The course is about half a mile from the town centre and has 18 holes, (6,141 yards, par 70) set on rolling parkland with wooded areas. It is open to visitors except on competition days.

Forres and the north-east of Scotland offers great facilities both on and off the golf course, the countryside and coastline is spectacular and inviting and the area is steeped in history.
Nearby, Kinloss Country Golf Club comprises two 9-hole courses, a par 34 (2535 yards) and a par 35 (2939 yards) and is situated four miles from Forres on the road from Kinloss to Burghead.
