Birdwatching

Forres is an excellent base to see all manner of winged creatures, from garden birds to Golden Eagles.

Being close to the sea also means you don’t have to go far to get a glimpse of impressive seabirds too, and with open sandy beaches mixed with rocky cliffs, the varying habitats make Moray home to many different species.

Our columnist Dave Slater takes you through the seasons in the first instalment of his birding blog, Birdwatching in Spring, which explains what to look out for and where in the Forres area at this time of year.
