Step back in time to an important fishing era
The ice house is an intriguing little building built in the mid-19th century as a natural freezer to support the local coastal salmon netting industry.
The internal chambers were used to store ice which meant fish could be chilled while being transported to London markets.
The icehouse is now a museum to the salmon fishing industry that used to be commonplace in Findhorn.
There is also a heritage centre on the opposite side of the road, which explores the wider history of the Findhorn village and surrounding countryside.
As a key location in the fishing industry, the heritage centre explores the life of the fishermen that lived and worked in Findhorn.
