The largest national park in the country

The Cairngorms National Park is the largest in the UK, covering a massive 4528 square kilometres. It takes in the entire Cairngorm mountain range as well as much of the River Spey.

It is home to three ski resorts – Cairngorm, The Lecht and Glenshee. As a result, some of the towns and villages, Aviemore being the best example, are busy all year round.

The area is a haven for adventure activities. as well as skiing, there is watersports at Loch Morlich and Loch Insch; land-based activities at Rothiemurchus Estate; plenty of walking and biking trails; and as you can imagine, loads for the photographer. In fact, there’s even ‘selfie posts’ to perch your camera on!
