Year-round activities on Cairngorm Mountain
Although Cairngorm Mountain is principally a ski resort, it offers things to do all year round.
The funicular railway that runs from the car park to the Ptarmigan station is currently closed for repairs.
Skiing and snowboarding
Thirty-two kilometres of slopes are available for skiers and snowboarders with 11 lifts.
This winter playground sites between 640m and 1230m of Cairn Gorm, the sixth highest mountain in the Scotland, and the most accessible.
This popular resort is in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park and offers magnificent views over the Strathspey countryside.
Cairngorm Mountain is also home to the UK’s only skiing half-pipe.
Equipment is available for hire and lessons can be booked.
Summer activities
When there’s no snow, there’s still good reason to head for this mountain-top resort. With an adventure playpark that offers a tubing chute, a mountain garden and the Coire Cas Viewpoint which has spectacular, unbroken view over the landscape.
There are guided mountain walks such as ‘Exploring the Northern Corries’ which will provide education on the landscape and wildlife, as well as give you more confidence to explore further on your own.
All year round
The are various walks perfect for a leisurely stroll, family walk or hike to the summit of Cairn Gorm.
There is a shop, restaurant and bar, and the car park is always open for those stunning views and walks. The drive up to this resport passes many attractions such as the:
