From the foothills of the Cairngorms to Moray’s award-winning coastline and so much in between. The Moray Walking and Outdoor Festival offers everyone the opportunity to discover & enjoy Moray’s natural, historical and cultural landscapes. 

Each year, there is a varied and exciting programme of more than 30 events, and includes walks, talks and a range of outdoor activities with something for everyone.

The festival is ranked as one of the best walking festivals in the UK, and consists of organised, guided walks throughout Moray, offering a chance to see some of the areas off-road highlights.

In 2024, the festival will take place between 14 and 24 June, offering a very wide range of walking-related events from gentle strolls to challenging endurance trails.

In previous years, events have combined other activities such as kayaking, running, skiffing, botany and storytelling.

  • Sensory beach walks
  • Altyre ecological walk
  • Garmouth. and Kingston History Walk
  • Kinloss Abbey
  • Summer Solstice – sunset stroll through Findhorn dunes
  • Elgin – a mile in the Middle Ages
