Free things to see and do in Moray

Are you stuck for ideas now that the school holidays have started?

We’ve compiled a list of top FREE things to see and do in Moray, but we’re sure there will be more!

  • Pluscarden Abbey (a community of Catholic Benedictine Monks) – Open 4:30am-8:30pm everyday. Parking, toilets and small gift shop.
  • Knockando Woolmill – Open 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday. Parking, Coffee Shop, toilets available with walks nearby.
  • Glen Grant Gardens, Rothes. Open 9:30am-4pm Monday-Saturday & Sunday 11am-4pm
  • Grant park/Cluny Hill/Nelson’s Tower (Closed for the season) Enjoy a lovely walk up to the tower and enjoy the view over Findhorn bay. There’s plenty of space to let off steam. Parking & Toilets available.
  • WDC Dolphin Centre Spey Bay (you may even spot a dolphin or two) Visitor Centre – Open Thursday-Monday 10:30am-4pm. Parking and toilets available. Lots of wildlife and wonderful walks nearby.
  • Roseisle Country Park – Forest Walks, playpark, barbecue/picnic area, toilets, food truck and parking (small fee)
  • Beaches along the Moray Coastline. Explore cliffs, caves, wildlife, rockpools and much more.
  • Kinloss Abbey – limited parking
  • Elgin Museum – open 1-4pm Wednesday-Sunday. Toilets and Parking nearby
  • Ben Rinnes – Climb the highest peak in Moray for the more energetic.
  • Loch of Blairs/Altyre Estate. Lovely walks, picnic benches and parking nearby.
