Forres Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Forres is hosting several events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Thursday 2 June
- 2–4pm – Afternoon tea at Mackenzie & Cruickshank – booking info
- 9pm – Lighting of beacon at Findhorn, featuring specially written music from local pipers, bugle player and Kinloss Military Wives Choir. See Findhorn Jubilee Weekend for more details
- 9.30pm – Tolbooth illuminated
- 9.30pm – Forres Pipe Band will play Diu Regnare
- 9.35pm – Imogen Symon (age 12) will play cornet piece ‘Majesty’
- 9.40pm – St Laurence Church Bells will ring
- 9.45pm – Tolbooth will be lit to the song ‘A Life Lived With Grace,’ by the Forres Youth Choir
- 9.45pm – Forres Youth Choir will sing A Life Lived With Grace, the official song for the Queen’s Jubilee.
Friday 3 June
- Findhorn Village Centre Open Day; Come and Try day at the bowling club. See Findhorn Jubilee Weekend for times
- 6pm – Toun Mercat, organised by the Forres Community Activities Association
- 6–9pm – Royal Themed Flower Festival, St Laurence Church
- 3–8pm – Jubilee High Tea at the Mosset Tavern– booking info
Saturday 4 June

- 10am–1pm – Rafford Jubilee Jamboree, 10am–1pm, Rafford Village Hall
- 10am–12noon – Flower festival, St Laurence Church
- 12noon–4pm, Jubilee BBQ, The Cafe at Logie Steading – booking info
- 2–4pm – Flower festival, St Laurence Church,
- 3–8pm – Jubilee High Tea at the Mosset Tavern– booking info
Sunday 5 June
- Times TBC – Garden Party, Findhorn Royal Yacht Club, 1950s themed ball in the James Milne Institute; Maritime Pageant and street party. See Findhorn Jubilee Weekend for times.
- 10am – Thanksgiving service, St Laurence Church,
- 12–5pm – Event in Grant Park – ‘Picnic in the Park’ including children’s fancy dress, children’s orienteering or fun run event, Forres & District Pipe Band, Douglas Ross MP and Lord Lieutenant Major General Seymour Monro will plant commemorative trees.
- 12noon–4pm, Jubilee BBQ, The Cafe at Logie Steading – booking info
- 3:30–5pm – Live music with The Zebecks, MacTa, Dave Levon, Tom Morris and James Kennedy
- 10am–4pm – Brodie Castle Jubilee Picnic – booking info
- 3–8pm – Jubilee High Tea at the Mosset Tavern– booking info
- 6:30pm – Choral Evensong. All welcome.
